April Fool's!

I can't believe that it has been over ten years since I first witnessed the awesomeness of the film, "Slaughter High". It is because of this movie, that I look forward to April 1st every year. This has to be the worst film ever made from the awful writing, poor editing, ridiculous score, continuity issues, horrendous acting, hilarious stunt moves, right down to the fact that new characters appear halfway through the movie that were never introduced before. My personal favorite is that according to this writer, April Fool's Day ends at noontime on April 2nd.

Let's talk about some of the character names: Carol Manning, Skippy Pollack, Marty Rantzen, Carl Putney, Stella, Joe, Frank, Ted, Nancy, Susan, Shirley, Manny and Digby. These character names are in short, AWESOME. All of the actors are supposed to be in high school however, they all look over 30 which only adds to the awesomeness. Let me paint the picture for you...

The "popular" kids in school play a April Fool's Day Joke on the school nerd, Marty. The joke is that Carol Manning (played by Caroline Munro, who is actually somewhat of an old school celebrity), wants to have her way with him in the girls locker room. As she coaxes Marty to get undressed in one of the shower stalls while she supposedly undresses in the one next to him, Carol lets all of her friends in the locker room. Marty rips the curtain to the shower open ready to pounce on Carol only to find that he is surrounded and being filmed in the nude. The guys pick Marty up and dunk him head first into the toilet while also poking his dangling bits with a stick.

After getting caught by the gym teacher, all of the "popular" kids get punished with an after school gym session while Marty gets let off the hook. Ad a peace offering, two of the jocks give Marty some "dope". Let's just say that something awful happens to Marty and he is never heard from again. Until... their high school reunion where he plots his revenge....

It's so bad, it's good. To celebrate this wonderful holiday, I will be holding a screening of this film. If you are in the LA area and would like to attend, please let me know. If you are not in the LA area, I am telling you... find this movie. Buy this movie. You will not regret it. Click on the title of this blog for the trailer!

I am ecstatic to be able to say the following line from this film to Tara Kittle and Phil Daniel (2 friends of mine), "April First is your birthdaaaaaaaaay?" Happy Birthday to you both!

Happy First Day of April to you all and thanks for poppin in!
