The Gift of My Service

Today was my first day working in the world of gift giving. Your job is to give gifts you ask? Yes folks, it's true. I am assisting companies that specialize in luxury merchandising market their products by "gifting" them to celebrities. Click here for company information.

Today was my first day so I didn't actually give away anything to anyone. Well, except my boss to whom I gave the gift of my service...with a smile. I am pretty sure considering my pretty sweet skills, that is the best gift in the world. Who needs a bag of expensive goodies when you can have a class act like me? A young woman whose face turns the color of a turnip at the slightest sign of sun or heat. A brilliant one who managed to get herself locked inside of the garage right after her colleague specifically came with her on the first trip to hold the door open. A girl who goes to the gym and hits the treadmill for two hours and then comes home and eats a cupcake. A girl who up until yesterday had all of the time in the world to get her assignments done for class yet still manages to find something more important to do; like this blog for example.

Here's the thing about all of that... Somewhere in the past year I just let go. Some of the things that I listed above are things I would normally get really embarrassed about or be ashamed of, but tonight in group meditation I realized that I just didn't care anymore. We discussed how there are people who are going through life trying to swim upstream which is nearly impossible and exhausting! If you keep trying to go against the current, you will tire out and likely drown. That is when I realized that I used to be that person and I wasn't sure when, but I let go of the oars to my sinking ship and started going with the flow. I have never been more relaxed in my life! Oh my word..,I could almost taste the cheese in those last couple of lines.

I feel like I finally have control over what I let affect me and it feels really good. Except for Steel Magnolias... that movie controls me. Gets me every time...

Cordially,
Cupcake Cornbleuth

PS - Whose heard of Josh Emerson? Google him. IMDB him. Get to know him. I sure have... and he's a real swell guy who has some cool stuff in the works. More to come...
